These bolts would look great on your bike.
Sure, we could tell you that our Ultra-Low Profile Titanium Bottle Cage Bolts are lighter than steel (they are), stronger than aluminum (also true), and that our PVD finishes are vibrant, durable, and fade-resistant (yes, yes, and yes). Or that they won’t catch on or scratch your favorite bottles or interfere with bags and cables (yup).
And if you needed more reasons, we’d tell you that they are precision-machined from 6/4 titanium with a tightly-controlled 2.5mm hex and 1.75mm head height.
We’d temper your excitement a bit by reminding you that lightweight hardware requires a little more care, reminding you to apply nickel anti-seize to the threads, use a high-quality hex bit, and to set your torque wrench no higher than 3 Nm.
But let’s be real: you’re the discerning type and can already picture how well our Ultra-Low Profile hardware will work on your bike. How high-quality hardware feels to install. How they complement your bike’s clean aesthetic. How adding just the right amount of character can be what makes a bike truly yours.
Let's talk about titanium anodizing:
While there's no way to match a coating that varies as much as it does from fork to shock to seatpost, we think that our new bronze-colored hardware does a good job of coordinating with Fox suspension components while looking great everywhere else. Brown in some light, nearly gold in others, this shade of anodized Ti is as unique as it is handsome.
Also, please keep in mind that the appearance of anodized titanium finishes can be impacted by certain solvents or oils on the part surface. So if your bolts are looking funny, give them a good clean with isopropyl alcohol and they should be back to normal once dry.

Precision Requires Care
Installation:
These bolts won't be for everyone. In order to achieve such a low head while maintaining bolt strength, our Ultra-Low Profile bolts use a 2.5mm hex. That means that care must be taken and the following are required for installation:
- High-quality 2.5mm hex bit in good condition
- Nickel anti-seize compound or dielectric grease
- Torque wrench set no higher than 2-3Nm
In addition, it is wise to remove and reapply anti-seize to the threads annually to prevent seizing. Re-apply more often if you sweat heavily, have leaky bottles of electrolyte drink, or ride on salted roads (or near the salt water).

Kash is King?

Anyhow, it seems that some designers don't take hardware height into account when designing their water bottle cages. Having bolt heads protrude into cage makes for more difficult bottle insertion and removal, mars bottles, and can remove the finish from the bolts themselves. Which is why we designed and machined our own Ultra-Low Profile Bottle Cage Bolts from strong, corrosion-resistant Grade 5 titanium (Ti6Al4V). Â
But it turns out that they look pretty great filling unused bosses too! With heads that sit only 1.75mm above the boss, our Ultra-Low Profile bolts look clean on unused bosses and minimize interference with bags or cables.
Not only are they attractive and functional, our Ultra-Low Profile Bottle Cage Bolts weigh 1.2g each or 5g for a set of four. That's pretty darn light.
A note of caution: These bolts won't be for everyone. In order to achieve such a low head while maintaining bolt strength, these bolts use a 2.5mm hex. That means that care must be taken and the following are required for installation:
- High-quality 2.5mm hex bit in good condition
- Nickel anti-seize compound (preferred), copper anti-seize, or dielectric grease
- Torque wrench set no higher than 2-3Nm
In addition, it is wise to remove and re-grease the bolts annually to prevent seizing. Re-grease more often if you sweat heavily, have leaky bottles of electrolyte drink, or ride on salted roads (or near the sea).
